In March 2018, IAF Accreditation Body members collected data for the second time from their accredited certification bodies: the aim was to give an aggregate transition rate across the world for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to 28 February 2018.
Submissions were received from the vast majority of IAF ABs and gave transition rates from a total of over 1.1 million ISO 9001 and almost 380,000 ISO 14001 accredited certificates:
- For ISO 9001, the rate was 47.24%, up from 36.94% at 31 December 2018
- For ISO 14001, the rate rose to 51.55% from 39.73% at 31 December 2018
In Hungary these proportions are even lower: in case of ISO 9001 39,2 %, for ISO 14001 45,5 %.
The three-year transition period for ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 standard versions will end in September 2018, these two ratios clearly show that further steps are needed to raise the transition rate.
Previously, in their joint statement ISO and IAF already drew the attention to the fact that missing the deadline means that the certification is no longer valid, so it is highly important for the organisations to start the needed procedures on time.
